Our main goal is that you feel right at home!

We have just a few basic common sense rules that help make the stay here at The Black Bear more enjoyable! Other than that you are right at HOME!

We are Friendly, Hospitable and Welcoming Hosts to all of our Guests!

RULES AND REGULATIONS AT THE BLACK BEAR

PET POLICY

COMING  into the Park

ALL Campers/ tent site Guests and RVs and vehicles must check-in with the Office.

The Office is located up hill at the Cabin House.

Check-in: 1:00 PM but can be flexible if needed and based upon space availability.

Check-out: 11:00 PM please let the host know that you are leaving.

Late Arrivals:

Please make arrangements to arrive after 6 pm ( after Dark)

Office hours are 9am to 6pm Mon. - Saturday

Owner: Pamela Lives on site.

We will not always be in the office. Please Ring the Door Bell if you need assistance.

Check In Times:

RV Sites: 1 pm check in

Motel Rooms: 1-3 pm

11 am check out please!

Please do not text at all hours of the evening if you need assistance get with Pamela between the hours of 9am to 6pm!

Well we never really wanted to have all these rules however thru trial and error

we have had to implement rules for us all to enjoy Black Bear! 

Having experienced it all... Oh my!

UPS and other deliveries:

We are not at all responsible for any packages delivered to the  UPS station or front office doorstep.

No mail is allowed here. Get a PO Box for your personal mail please!

Please track your package.. asking us where it is ...well we cant keep up with that and are sorry but we gotta keep up with so so much!

CAMPGROUND & RV GUESTS

Invite  visitors to your site,or Motel room but please check-in with the office. Visitors are allowed on a day pass. Any Visitor that stays the night is subject to the daily rate fee of $10.00

per day.

. No Visitors past 10 pm please unless you have made special arrangements.

No visitors in and out of the park with out approval and certainty not past 10 pm! 

We are a small  facility and park, visitor vehicles must be parked at the  designated visitors parking areas. 

PLEASE DO NOT USE VACANT ADJACENT SITES FOR VISITOR PARKING THESE ARE MOST LIKELY RESERVED.

If you take up more than your allocated site or space you will be charged for that space!

Large gathering groups or family reunions are  allowed  with special reservations. Each RV site must be reserved for the gathering. ( reserved an RV or tent site.)

Please ask us  about having your reunion or other group gathering here with us at the court yard!

QUIET TIME

10:00 PM - 8:00 AM

All children should return to their sites by 10:00 PM. Please respect your fellow campers during quiet time.  We like to ensure for relaxed evenings and peaceful mornings.

Gatherings: We ask that you have your group gatherings down in the court yard by the Hammocks and volley ball court and not in front of the Motel office please!

PROHIBITED ITEMS

  • Fireworks

  • Glass Bottles or Containers 

  • BeeBee or Pellet Guns, Children with any guns of any type please.

  • Firearms: Check with us on this, as special arrangments for Hunters can be made.

  • No Un-Contained Fires

  • Vicious or un-vacinated Dogs

 

TRASH Rules

We provide several trash containers  on-site at the main entrance for all normal campsite trash. We are an Eco-friendly park and prohibit glass containers. Please squeeze down any plastic bottles and flatten / break-down any boxes or similar trash you will be putting in the dumpster.

We must conserve on dumpster space as much as possible as trash removal is a luxury in this beautiful mountain area. we are working on a recycling area for our park.

our rules on Trash:

1. All plastics rinsed out and squished down and placed in plastics container( its marked on the container)

2. All boxes broken down and separated and placed in designated container or inside trash box

3. NO BOTTLES OR GLASS

4. Aluminum and cans all rinsed out and placed in there proper container!

Go see the land field and you will be proud that Black Bear and the guest are doing their part to help our environment.

CAMPFIRES

Call the Howard Volunteer fire dept. Before you start a fire 719-942-4833

Firewood is  available  for purchase here at our Park,. Or Please provide your own.

each Guest is required to check the Fire and Burn Ban restrictions prior to starting a fire of any sort. Please drown campfires with lots of water before leaving your campsite. No fire should ever be left unattended!. Please do not cross property lines to gather wood. We will be around to check on and empty any overflowing fire pits.

ABSOLUTELY NO FIRES OF ANY SORT NEAR MOTEL ROOMS OR OTHER STRUCTURES!

KEEPING IT CLEAN

Please keep camp and RV sites clean and free of trash gatherings. WHEN YOU leave the park and check out with the office make sure the site is left in the way that you found it please. Store  away any and all edible foods and drinkable s in a certified bear-proof containers or locked down vehicle. Do not leave Ice Chests out in the open for wildlife to destroy. Manage all food. You may store things in the common area if needed.Smokers DONOT throw your butts on the ground we have ashtrays for your use!  its disgusting and we aim to keep our place clean!

CREEK EXPLORING

Children are allowed to play in and around the creek, with the supervision of an Adult

.A word of caution..Wear boots. When playing or exploring near, in or around the creek.

Please be very cautious of snakes and other wildlife. Please do not  disturb the flow of the creek by taking away or by adding additional rocks or debris to the course. Lets keep it natural and beautiful.

Shower Area 

A shower is available near the office  for campers and other guests to use. For guest the fee is $5.00 per person per shower. Its kept locked and you will need a key. Plan it before 6 pm when the office is open please, Please

No trash, feminine products in toilets or food scraps in the sink, and please do not dispose of any trash or food scraps down the drain as it will create clogged slow to drain issues. We rely on a septic system that can be damaged easily by inappropriate debris, and these items can also attract bears and other wild animals. Please don't dispose of any trash or food scraps in the landscaping in the campground. or on the property please.

Spraying:

We are on a routine and must spray for insects every 2 weeks to keep the spiders and insects down! we use organic products.

Please make arrangements for your pets on the day we spray!

NO VEHICLE WASHING, Mechanics or Clothes Lines

Our Park utilizes a water well. We must conserve this precious resource  as much as possible

No vehicle Repairs allowed.

INTERNET ACCESS

Wi-Fi is available in the campground , RV park and Motel and requires the password, which you will receive when checking in. and is posted for you as well. We are as technologically advanced as our mountain location allows, and up here in the mountains, we conserve on bandwidth. To ensure that all of our guests have access, we ask that you do not stream videos. You can text, email, or surf the web, but we remind you that being outside and experiencing the beautiful  surrounding area, and all that it has to offer, is usually way more fun!

CELL PHONE SERVICE

AT&T is the Best in this area!

Cell phone service can be spotty at best in the Valley and at most campgrounds in the area. There is typically a good AT&T signal here at our park. In case of emergencies, there is an office land line available. Please do not hesitate to use it if necessary. Note that Wi-Fi calling and texting works well on our wireless network.

We reserve the Immediate right to refuse service or cancel your stay with us:

non compliance with just some simple rules can result in us asking you to leave our property immediately without further notice!

Black Bear Campground is not responsible for damages caused by accident, vandalism, or acts of God. We are not responsible for any vehicular accidents or damage. All guests are encouraged to take all precautions to secure their belongings. Black Bear Campground is not responsible for accidents or injuries of any kind while staying at our Park. If two reasonable complaints are filed with the hosts of

Black Bear Campground, then we have the right to ask the site occupants and tent campers to leave without any refund or confrontation. Black Bear has the right to refuse service to anyone. Anyone who disrespects our staff, owners or establishment. Be kind and treat others as you would want to be treated!

PETS and Fees

 

Pets are allowed at the RV Park, Campground  and Motel Rooms.

Pets- $5.00 a Night ( Maximum Charge $20.00 a week for RV Sites)

RV Site: $50.00 Cash deposit for site cleaning

Please use doggy bags or plastic grocery bags to pick up your pets droppings if you walk your pet around the Park please.

Please Do not allow Your Pet to potty on other Guests RV Sites or areas that guests enjoy.

Pets must be leashed at all times while staying at the Black Bear...when outside of cabin room, and all messes must be immediately picked up and properly disposed of please!

Motel Rentals and Pets:

Pets: Motel Room: $150.00 deposit( refundable) $35 Carpet Cleaning Fee.

A limit of 2 pets are allowed in the Cabin Rooms.

A refundable $150.00 Cash  fee will be required and refunded after departure, if no damages have occurred and if there is no excessive cleaning.

Rooms are thoroughly inspected pre-arrival and  upon departure.

Vacuums are available at the office for guest use.

We have a Dog Park and ask that you use the Designated area for Your Doggy Potty Area.

We do Charge $50.00 extra for Poop Scooping.

Pets must be leashed at all times while staying at the Black Bear...when outside of cabin room, and all messes must be immediately picked up and properly disposed of please!

Pet fees are non refundable and are dependent on length of stay.  Stays longer than one week will be charged each week.

A limit of 2 pets are allowed in the Cabin Rooms.

Pets are not to be allowed on the furniture, and cannot be bathed in the bathtubs. Please!

A refundable $150.00 Cash deposit fee will be needed and refunded after departure, if no damages have occurred and if there is no excessive cleaning.

Rooms are thoroughly inspected upon departure and the day of arrival.

Vacuums are available at the office for guest use.

Pets are not to be allowed to roam unattended at the cabins, RV Park or Campground.  If they must be left unattended, they must be kenneled, not leashed.

. If you are unable to keep your pets waste picked up then we will have to charge you for the extra clean up $50.00 per occurrence or ask that you not have the pet here any more.

Respect the other RVers and only take your pet out to the designated area for restroom potty!

 

Never allow your pet to use the restroom in the RV park  or on someone else RV site Please!

or Motel area or on another persons site.

If we find poop on your site we will have to charge for the clean up $50.00.. Sorry but we all need to think of the next guests coming in,

We are a Pet Friendly park.

Please keep Cats  inside your RV at all times unless you have a caged enclosure that does not allow an escape.

Please do not leave your pet unattended or tied up unless you are supervising the pet. We are not responsible for injuries or lost off of a leash, runaways or accidents that may occur to your pet while staying at the Black Bear Campground.

Please do not allow your dog to bark continuously or otherwise disturb other campground guests.

Motel Guests: Pets are to be under your supervision at all times. If your pet has an accident and requires us to carpet clean a $50.00 fee will be charged to your rate for the clean up.

Please keep your Pet on a leash when walking around the premises.

 Salida, the nearby town offers  numerous options available for doggy daycare and pet sitting. Please do not allow your pets into the common area, restrooms or to roam around freely and unattended.

PETS

Pets are allowed at the RV Park and Campground. Please use  Your own doggy bags  or plastic grocery bags to pick up your pets poop!

Pets are allowed in the Rooms with a $125.00 Pet deposit. $45.00 fee for carpet cleaning comes out of the deposit. for pets under 20 lbs and $50.00 fee for pets over 20 lbs.

Pets must be leashed when outside of cabin room, and all messes must be immediately picked up and properly disposed of.
